Renewing interest and wanting advice on how to get started

Hello all

I introduced myself a few years ago on the forum but life happened and money and time were at a premium for me for a some time. But now, two kids and a career change later, I'm in a better spot in life for hobbies and I would like to start building armor and getting involved where I can.

I had two main questions:

1. Where can I see if/when/where any armor parties are planned? I haven't gotten any parts yet but I think I would like to attend an AP to get a feel for what I want to do/talk with others about building. I didn't see an AP thread on the forum or the FB page.

2. How can I get involved at events before I build armor? Reading other posts, it seems handling is something that can be done if you don't have armor. Is this something aspiring members can do or do I need to be approved first? What other ways can I get involved that will expose me to as much as possible?

Thanks for reaching out, good to hear from you again!

1). Yes, we are in the planning stages for a summer armor party now. Hopefully around mid-July. As soon as that's posted I will definitely let you know.

2). You're most welcome to come to a troop and handle with us before approval. Just reach out before hand. If you have time this weekend I'd encourage you to stop by our booth at Hall of Heroes Con in Elkhart. Also, I'd be happy to meet up with you for coffee some morning/afternoon and just talk about options for you.

3). If you're on Discord I'd encourage to join our server there. I've sent you a PM with an invite to it.
